About the Owner

I was born in Brazil, in the mountains of Belo Horizonte. The meaning of the city’s name already explains a lot: Beautiful Horizon.  It is a breezy tropical place with mild mountain weather, plenty of waterfalls, and astonishing greenery. In my childhood  I walked on open fields, bathed on currents of fresh water, rode horses, and ate succulent fruit gathered from fertile trees. My father’s summerhouse in the countryside made all of these experiences available to me, as we spent our weekends and summer vacations there. Good times. Good memories.

 I started my career as an artist with degrees in Fine Arts from the Fundação Escola Guinhard, and Interior Design from FUMA, Fundação Universitaria Mineira de Artes. I then became an interior designer and photographer as a way to express my creativity. Textile is one of  my passions for its richness of craftsmanship, design, and variety of print-maker styles, patterns and colors. You can see some of my work at www.hbinteriordesign.com.

 From a Hampton-based photography project, I launched the HAMPTONS BRAZIL BOUTIQUE. My photographs of the Hamptons served as inspiration for various other works by artists in Brazil, and from our collaborative work I created an exclusive line of textiles, throw pillows, candles, and note cards.  I feel very fortunate for living part of my life in East Hampton. From the moment we met, Nature here seduced my eyes and all my senses, and I’ve been entranced by the beauty of the region throughout the years. Nature reminds me that with every single day comes a new beginning and a new life, each with its own beauty, peculiarities, and challenges. In short, I became captivated by the one of the most beautiful places to live, THE HAMPTONS.

 My Brazilian upbringing called my attention to find a way to meet people, entertain, enjoy the pleasure of mingling, exchange experiences, and expand my understanding of human beings. My newest project is this Bed and Breakfast. Welcome to our home and to our lives.
